Teach on LinguMon
LinguMon is a marketplace for one-to-one language lessons. Students find you, book an hour from the schedule you publish, and meet you in a browser classroom. You set the rate, we handle the booking, the money and the video.
What you set
Nobody assigns you students, sets your price, or fills your calendar for you.
You set your hourly rate, and a separate lower rate for trial lessons of 30 minutes. You can change both at any time. Existing bookings keep the price they were made at.
You publish a weekly schedule on your own clock, so a Monday morning stays a Monday morning through a daylight saving change. Add time off for a holiday and those days disappear from your calendar for students.
List the languages you teach with the level you teach them to, and the languages you also speak. Students filter on both, and speaking a learner's first language is often what wins you the booking.
Pick what you are actually good at teaching rather than everything you could cover. It is what students search on, and it sets the expectation before they book.

Commission
20%
LinguMon keeps 20% of every lesson price. You keep the other 80%. That is the whole fee. There is no listing charge, no monthly fee, no payment for better placement in search, and the rate does not change with how much you teach.
The commission pays for the marketplace itself: bringing students to your profile, the booking and calendar system, payment handling, and the video classroom.
The lesson price leaves the student's credit balance the moment they book, not on the day of the lesson. You are never chasing a payment for an hour you already taught.
From booking until the lesson is done, your earnings are held as pending. They are visible on your earnings page but not yet withdrawable, because the lesson can still be cancelled.
When the lesson is completed, your share moves from pending to available. Lessons that run and are never closed out are settled automatically a short time after they end.
You fill in one form: who you are, the languages you teach and to what level, a headline, a description of how you teach, and any qualifications or experience you want to show. Photos and a short video introduction are optional, and both make a visible difference to how many students open your profile.
A person reads every application before a profile goes live, so approval is not instant. If something is missing we will tell you what it is rather than rejecting you silently. Once you are approved you set your availability, and your profile appears in search for the languages you teach.
You do not need a teaching qualification to apply. Community tutors and qualified teachers are both listed, labelled differently, and students choose between them. What is not optional is showing up on time, teaching the hour you were paid for, and treating students decently. That is set out in the tutor guidelines.
Once your available balance reaches $20 you can request a payout from the earnings page. Requests are reviewed within two business days.
A student who cancels more than 12 hours before the start is refunded in full and the slot returns to your calendar. A student who cancels later than that is refunded part of the price, and you keep the rest for the hour you held open. If you cancel, the student is refunded in full whatever the notice. Cancelling often is the fastest way to lose your place on the marketplace.
